Angela D Reimer was born in Calgary, Alberta where she studied Fine Arts and received her BAA before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia. Her paintings, digital art and drawings, aim to reveal truths often obscured by physical reality and imposed perception. By employing figurative and biomorphic line work, she explores themes of shifting feminine identity and the bounds of opposing external influence. Reimer focuses on achieving inhabited creative cognition and artistic agency through minimalism and, at times, highly restrictive artistic practices. In doing so she creates narratives which reflect the unique complexity of womanhood, self-realization and connection in a digital age.
